The MG7120 prints beautiful borderless photos up to 8.5″ x 11″ and crisp documents with great quality. The maximum resolution of 9600 x 2400 with 1pl technology, six individual ink tanks, including gray ink for fine detail in your color, and black and white photos, is a maximum resolution of 9600 x 2400. “update-star” Paper capacity is limited: 125 sheets of plain paper in the lower cassette and 20 sheets of 4 x 6-inch or 5 x 7-inch photo paper in the photo tray just above. Flip the photo tray over and you’ll find the optical media tray, which fits into a slot just above the output tray. The output tray is just above the paper trays and automatically opens when you print or copy. There’s no automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning or copying multi-page documents, which isn’t unusual for a home printer, but we like it when we see it. The inkjet all-in-one has an efficient design, with the two paper trays stacked under the folding output tray. The MG7120 has 6 ink tanks: pigment black (for text printing); yellow; cyan; magenta; black dye; and gray; the last two to improve the quality of the photo. Overall output quality was above par for an inkjet printer, with average text and graphics and above-average photo quality. The text quality is fine for standard home, school, or business use, although you probably won’t use it for documents like resumes where you’re looking to make a good visual impression.
