Canon PIXMA iP6700D Driver Software Download, Manual, Wireless Setup, Scanner Install for Windows, Mac, Linux – Canon’s new PIXMA iP6700D photo printer is the successor to the company’s iP6600D, one of the best products of 2006. The $349 iP6700D is first and foremost a photo printer. In our tests, it produced high-quality prints on photographic paper; the images were vibrant, but the skin tones were too tan. The device is less capable of printing text. Unlike the Canon PIXMA iP5200R, it does not use pigment black ink; therefore, your text output was not as dark. We also saw blurred edges on some letters. The iP6700D’s impressive 3.5-inch pop-up color display makes it easy to navigate through menus, preview images, and do basic photo editing without the need for a PC. Its infrared interface can receive images from select phones, and a $99 add-on provides wireless Bluetooth printing.
“update-star” The configuration of the iP6700D is typical for inkjet printers that use a separate cartridge for each color and is standard for Canon inkjet printers in this class. Clear a slot for the 7.7 x 16.9 x 12.0-inch printer, plug in the power cord, insert the printhead and six ink cartridges (using cyan, yellow, magenta, black, light cyan, and light magenta) and load paper. If you also want to print from a computer, you can run the automatic installer and connect using a USB cable when prompted. A direct print port also lets you use a USB cable to print from a PictBridge-enabled digital camera (but unlike some competitive models, not from a portable USB drive). The iP6700D adds support for several new paper sizes and Canon Fine Art Photo Rag Paper. The printer uses a lower cassette drawer and a vertical input tray that can hold up to 150 sheets of plain paper. An automatic duplex printing setting enables double-sided printing.
