First, Canon Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses an innovative print head with 2,304 nozzles that eject uniform and precise ink droplets of up to two picolitres. Additionally, Canon has added two high-intensity inks (photo cyan and photo magenta) to the four conventional inks for more accurate color values. “update-star” The front left corner includes a cover that lifts up to reveal memory card sockets for all common types although, interestingly, the PictBridge socket for connecting an external camera is not with them but on the bottom right of the front panel. At the rear, there is a socket for mains power and another for USB 2.0, which is the only data connection to the printer. Fold down the front panel and the printhead bracket slides to the left end of the carriage to allow you to install the two supplied print cartridges. Offering superior fade resistance (30 years under glass, 100 years sealed in an album), these ChromaLife 100 cartridges are tri-color. The former is standard cyan, magenta, and yellow, and the latter offers photographic colors. They snap into place but are a bit difficult to press up on the main carriage.
