Reliable print quality, speed, and the fact that prints come out completely dry are three reasons you’ll probably never return. This MFP isn’t particularly fast for a laser. Copies were too dark on the default settings, but scans were among the best we’ve seen on a Brother machine. The DCP-L3550CDW uses separate consumables for the toner, drum, belt, and waste toner, which can reduce running costs, but juggling seven consumables is too much for home users. Printing costs are around 2 pence per page for black and 8.4 pence for color, which is not excessive for a printer in this class.
